Setup

1. You must register as a user on freepay.dk Go to Freepay.dk and click on the black button in the top right corner (Get Freepay) and follow the registration process. (Then you will receive an email where you must activate your user.)

2. Then you need to set up your account and apply to one of the acquirers we work with. (If you do not have an acquirer agreement in advance, we support Trust Payments, Elavon, NETS, Shift4, and Clearhaus) Read what is an acquirer

SETUP GUIDE:
When you have received your API / communication key or business number from your acquirer, you are almost there and ready to receive payments from your customers. But you need to do the following:
You need to log in to Freepay and here select My Freepay and then Invoice to add a payment card/credit card.

When this is done, select Settings and then select Acquirer. Here you select the acquirer you have made an agreement with, after which you enter the API / communication key or business number you received from your acquirer. Then set the acquirer to Active and
Save changes.

Then select Settings and API keys again. Here you need to add an API key and give it a name (can be your webshop's name). This API key gives access to your webshop/CMS/system. It can communicate with Freepay and is not the same API key that comes from your acquirer. The API key must be entered under settings or via Freepay's plugin on your webshop/CMS/system. Your business number and your NETS industry code can be found on the agreement document you receive from NETS.

Remember, if you want to accept international credit cards, you need to make an agreement with NETS for international payment cards. And the business number you are assigned, you must also remember to enter on your Freepay account

To sign up for Freepay, click on "GET FREEPAY", then enter your email and click "send". After you have done this, you will receive a confirmation email.

Please note that it may take a few minutes before you receive the email. The email may have ended up in your spam filter.

If you unexpectedly have not received the email after 10 minutes, and it is not in your spam, we encourage you to try again or contact our customer service by email hej@freepay.dk
or call us during our opening hours at 38 42 40 40.

You need to log in to your Clearhaus account. Here you go to "settings" and look under "API Keys".

Your NETS industry code and your business number can be found on the agreement document you receive from NETS.

** Note it can take up to 2 days from when you receive your NETS business number until it works in their system **

If you wish to close your account and delete your store with Freepay.

You can do it quickly and easily directly from your control panel. Simply follow these three steps:

1: Log in: Go to mit.freepay.dk and log in with your user credentials.
2: Select the "My Freepay" option in the left-hand menu.
3: Click the "My subscription" tab. Here you will find the "Delete my store" button, which you need to press to complete the deletion., which you need to press to complete the deletion.


Please note: When you delete your store, access to your transaction data and settings is removed immediately. Make sure you have exported any necessary reports before confirming the deletion.

Notice of termination: Please be aware that there is a notice period of the current month + 1 month.

Can I restore my account after deletion? Yes, by contacting us.

What happens to my data after deletion?
You will no longer have access to your data. We recommend that you export your transactions as a CSV file.

Yes you can. After you are logged in to Freepay, you have a menu item on the left side called "Create new shop".

Navigate between your shops:
When you are logged in, you can easily see which shop you are using in the top right corner. Here you also have the option to switch between the other shops you have created.

With a single click you can switch to another shop without having to log out and in again. This makes it quick and easy for you to navigate between your different shops.

Yes you can. After you are logged in to Freepay, you have a menu item on the left side called "Users" which is a submenu under "Settings". Here you have the option to add new users to your shop, and you can choose which access level they should have.

In Freepay's WooCommerce plugin, under "Extra gateway settings" you must check "Capture on complete".

When the order is completed in WooCommerce, the transaction amount will automatically be captured in Freepay.

Once you have created an account with us, you need to link an acquirer and a credit card to your account.
And you will need your company's logo in this size: 250x250 px in png or jpg/jpeg. Max size 2MB.

3: Under Wallets click edit next to MobilePay, upload your logo and activate it.

Furthermore, you don't need to do anything else. Once you have activated MobilePay with us, it will automatically appear as a payment option for your customers in the payment window.

How Apple Pay works.
Apple Pay only works on Apple hardware (iPhone, iPad or Mac.) and only via the Safari browser. It further requires that the end user has set up their payment card on one of the devices.

Once you have created an account with us, you need to link an acquirer to your account. Then you can link Google Pay to your account and receive payments.

3: Under Wallets click edit next to Google Pay, and activate it. It is now available on your payment window.

Change of logo on Mobilepay

1: Log in to My Freepay (freepay.dk)
2: Go to Settings, where you find the acquirer section
3: Under Wallets click Edit next to MobilePay
At the bottom there is a trash can icon that deletes your old logo, and then a new logo can be uploaded.

*Remember the size of your logo must be 250x250 px and in png or jpg/jpeg format. Max size 2MB.*

You can change the bank account to which you receive your payouts by contacting your acquirer.

Shift4: Inform Freepay and send documentation, and a screenshot of the new account or bank documentation - then we will update your new bank details within 1-2 business days.

Elavon: Inform Freepay and send documentation, and a screenshot of the new account or bank documentation - then we will update your new bank details within 1-2 business days.

Remember the following information:
Company name
Customer number
CVR
Information about bank name, IBAN and SWIFT (BIC)

The above applies to both your previous and your new bank.
You must provide proof that you/the company owns the new bank account. (Attach a screenshot or bank statement as documentation for the new bank account.)

Remember also to change your credit card / payment card linked to your Freepay account, if it is also being changed in connection with the bank switch.

Log in to MyFreepay.dk and select Invoice to add the new payment card.

It is a good idea to have at least two payment cards linked, so that your webshop never stops working. Then you can always receive payment from your customers.

Freepay gives you the opportunity to test your environment before going live.

Remember to enable Freepay's test acquirer. Log in to My Freepay.dk and select settings, then select acquirer.

Now select Test Acquirer (Edit) and click the activate button. You are now in test mode. See our test guide to proceed. Link to Freepay's test guide. If you are using a plug-in, test mode must be enabled in the plug-in.

When you are done testing, remember to disable the test acquirer. Log in to My Freepay.dk and select settings, then select acquirer. Now select Test Acquirer (Edit) and click the deactivate button.

NOTE! This is for testing only. You will not receive payments for transactions completed with this acquirer, and the test acquirer should only be active when you are testing.

* MobilePay is not free in test mode. *

** In some CMS/Webshop systems, the test environment/test mode must also be toggled on and off.
For example in WooCommerce "Test mode" off in our plugin "FreePay for WooCommerce". There is a setting called "Enable test mode". The checkbox must be removed and settings saved. **

*** If you want to test with a small amount outside our test module, the amount must be over 1 DKK. The reason is that many banks reject amounts of 1 DKK or less. ***

An API key (Application Programming Interface) is a personal code that can be used to make two software programs "talk" to each other and perform various actions in each other's systems. And in this case Freepay and your system.

Log in to My Freepay.dk and under Settings / API Keys add an API Key. Copy it and paste it into your system / Webshop.

If you no longer wish to use MobilePay you must deactivate it.

Cancellation of MobilePay
1: Log in to My Freepay (freepay.dk)
2: Go to Settings, where you find the acquirer section
3: Click on MobilePay / Edit
4: Under MobilePay click on the red button (Cancel MobilePay)

Achieve higher credibility and more completed purchases with the company logo in the payment window. The logo will be visible in the upper left corner of the payment window, on desktop, tablet and mobile.

1: Log in to My Freepay.dk and select Settings, then select Company Information.
2: Drag'n Drop your logo. (Available file types: png / jpg / jpeg and Max. 2MB). And Save.

Once you have created an account with us, you need to connect an acquirer to your account. You can then connect AnyDay to your account and receive payments.

1: Log in to My Freepay (freepay.dk)
2: Go to Settings, where you find the acquirer section
3: Under Wallets click Edit next to AnyDay, and activate it by entering the Apikey and privatkey received from AnyDay.
4: Remember to click Save.

It is now available in your payment window.

If you have received a new credit card / payment card, remember to update it in My Freepay.

Log in to Freepay.dk and select My Freepay and then Invoice to add a payment card.

It is a good idea to have a minimum of two payment cards linked, so that your webshop never stops working. This way you can always receive payment from your customers.

Here is how to do it:

1: Log in to My Freepay (freepay.dk).
2: Go to Settings, where you find the acquirer section.
3: Under the acquirer, click Edit on NETS, and here you enter the merchant number you have received from Forbrugsforeningen.
(You must overwrite the existing one you received from NETS) – (The top merchant number).

Change logo on MobilePay.

1: Log in to My Freepay (freepay.dk)
2: Go to Settings, where you find the acquirer section
3: Under Wallets click Edit next to MobilePay, and here you need to delete the old logo and then upload a new one.

Yes, that input field will also be visible in production if the customer's email address is not sent to us in the CustomerEmail parameter when the payment link is created. It is a requirement from Visa / MasterCard, and must be used in connection with 3D-secure.

APPLICATION FOR AN ACQUIRER
Here is how to get started with an application: Log in to My Freepay (www.freepay.dk).

Go to Settings, where you find the Acquirer section.

Click Edit on the acquirer you wish to use. Here you will find the application for them.

2: Go to Invoice - and here you can add the email address you wish to use. If you have multiple shops, this must be done for each individual shop/account.

Remove:
1: Log in to My Freepay (freepay.dk)
2: Go to Invoice - find and select the email address you wish to delete and click the red trash can

On the right side you find My Freepay and then click on Invoice. Here you will find an overview of the invoices we have sent to you.

If your webshop is hosted at one.com, you may experience callback errors.

There is a setting in their "Spam Protection" that blocks the callback, which needs to be disabled. See here how

2: Below your logo you will see a trash can icon which you can use to delete your logo. Then upload a new one. Remember to save it.

1: Log in to freepay.dk
2: Click Create new shop in the left menu.
3: Here the new user must be specified (if there is no new user, the external user's information should be entered) and the shop / website registered. Once this is done, you can see the new shop / website next to your login name.

You can switch between the different shops / websites without having to log out and back in.

Log in to Freepay.dk and go to settings, then go to users.

Here you see an overview of the users associated with your account, and a selected user can be deleted by clicking the trash icon.

How do you fix a 403 Forbidden Error in WooCommerce?

A "403 Forbidden Error" means the server is refusing to grant access to a specific page or resource. This can be caused by a number of reasons, such as incorrect file permission configuration, plugins, or server settings. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Check file and folder permissions Incorrect file and folder permissions can lead to a 403 error. Follow these steps:
1: File permissions: Make sure PHP files have permission 644.
2: Folder permissions: Folders should have permission 755.
3: Use an FTP program such as FileZilla or your hosting provider's control panel to adjust permissions.

Temporarily disable plugins:
The error may be caused by a conflict with a plugin.
1: Go to wp-content/plugins via FTP or your hosting provider's file manager.
2: Rename the plugins folder to e.g. plugins_old to disable all plugins.
3: Check whether the error disappears.
4: Enable plugins one at a time to find the culprit.

Check the .htaccess file:
Errors in the .htaccess file can cause a 403 error.
1: Download a copy of the .htaccess file as a backup.
2: Delete the file from the root directory.
3: Log in to the WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > Permalinks, and click "Save Changes" to generate a new .htaccess file.

Check server security settings:
Sometimes the server's security settings block WooCommerce files:
1: Contact your hosting provider to ensure there are no firewall or mod_security rules blocking WooCommerce.
2: Ask them to check server logs to find out why access was denied.

Clear cache:
If you use a caching plugin or a CDN (such as Cloudflare), clear the cache:
1: Log in to your caching plugin or CDN dashboard and clear the cache.
2: Temporarily disable your CDN to see if the error disappears.

Update WordPress, theme and plugins:
Make sure your WordPress core, theme, and plugins are up to date. Incompatible versions can cause errors.

Check user permissions:
Go to Users in the WordPress dashboard and check that your user role (e.g. Administrator) has the correct permissions. Errors in user permissions can lead to restricted access.

Restore backups:
If none of the above solutions work, you may consider restoring a previous backup where everything was working correctly.

How do I activate surcharge?

Follow these four simple steps to get started:
1: Log in to your Freepay account. Go to the login page and enter your credentials to access the control panel.

2: Find the Surcharge menu. Navigate to the Settings menu on the left side. Here you will find the Surcharge item, which you need to click.

3: Set the VAT rate. To ensure surcharge is calculated correctly in accordance with Danish law, make sure the VAT rate field is set to 25% for Denmark.

4: Configure your acquirer and prices. In the next step, select your specific acquirer (e.g. Clearhaus or Elavon). Here you must enter the percentage rate, authorisation fee and minimum transaction as stated in your contract with the acquirer (only International cards & Business cards can be surcharged). This is the rate the system uses to calculate the fee for the customer.

Authorisation fee:
Trust Payments = 0.80 DKK
Shift4 = 0.80 DKK
Clearhaus = 0.30 DKK
NETS = 0.54 DKK
Elavon = 0.80 DKK

Min. transaction = 0.60 DKK

Important to know about surcharge:
Contract rates: It is important that the percentages you enter match your physical contract with the acquirer to avoid discrepancies in settlement.

Surcharge rules: Please be aware that there are legal restrictions on which card types may be surcharged (you may not impose a fee on private payment cards issued within DK/EU/EEA).
